Clark and Floyd county in Southern Indiana provide a unique workplace environment. The area is ripe with small, locally owned businesses. In this work theme, we explore what some of these local businesses bring to the Southern Indiana culture.
There are many benefits to living and working in a community that thrives off of locally owned businesses. The entrepreneurs running these businesses live in the community and are more connected to their customer base. To them, these businesses are more than just a workplace, they are a chance to benefit and improve the public. For Starlight Coffee Co., it is a chance to grind locally purchased coffee beans and to provide a service to the community. True North provides a space for local artists to showcase their art and clothes in a creative space. Bananafish Tattoo Parlor connects with their clients up to 6 months before their tattoo actually takes place. The friendly culture of Southern Indiana is exemplified by the small businesses that make this area distinctive. |
